It's a cool night and I can see my breath drift off towards the sky. The smell of winter fire floats towards me on the breeze as my eyes search for the faint crescent moon parked on the horizon. I sit on the stairs, and look up. It's a clear night; the moon hides herself mostly away so that the stars can shine. I search for the constellations my dad would show me on nights like this when I was little. I spot the Little Dipper and the seven sisters, and am proud that I remember them. It's been a long time since I saw a shooting star, but I catch sight of one shimmering across the sky, so I close my eyes and make a wish.
